This was my first restoration in 1983. It was an original Z/28 Hugger Orange with White stripes.

This was a very fast car, a monster to drive.

The following pictures were taken 20 years ago (wow) with a polaroid, so excuse the poor quality.

These are of the finished product. When it was all said and done, I had about $6000.00 invested in the car. I bought it for $2500.00, drove it home, and the rest was for retoration.

Wish I could do that again!!!! I sold the car for $7500.00 in 1983. OUCH!

A portion of the right quarter panel was solid bondo YUCK! So instead of replacing the entire quarter, we cut out the bad area and welded in a new section. It proved to be very difficult to get back to a perfect fit, but we did it.

All the original paint was stripped off to bare metal

Primed and ready to paint!

Finished! We used straight lacquer paint. It dries in 15 min. and buffs out to a mirror finish. NICE!
